Wisconsin fish hatchery center earns national award
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A state fish hatchery has won a national award for excellence.
The Wild Rose State Fish Hatchery Education Center has earned an Outstanding Project of the Year award from the American Fisheries Society, the nation's largest professional fisheries organization.
The society gives out three such awards each year. Wild Rose won in the education category.
The Department of Natural Resources completed an education center at the hatchery last year as part of a three-phase renovation project. The center features two free-standing aquariums and interactive exhibits for children.
