The Christmas tree that will grace the State Capitol this holiday season is a 40-foot balsam fir harvested in the town of Emery and donated by Jim Ryf.
“This year’s State Capitol Christmas tree will have the added privilege of honoring the Capitol’s centennial with ornaments from school children around the state,” Gov. Scott Walker said in a news release. “We thank Jim Ryf for donating this tree and are looking forward to seeing it decorated.”
The tree is scheduled to be installed in the Capitol rotunda after Thanksgiving. The Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association provided transportation of the tree.
