MADISON — If you bite into an ear of sweet corn sometime in the future and blurt out the word “wow,” it’s a good bet that the variety of sweet corn you are eating came from research trials directed by Bill Tracy.

Tracy has been doing research on sweet corn at UW-Madison for 32 years, and he and his research team recently developed a new variety of sweet corn they named “Wow” because of its special flavor.
