A free 2018 Local Foods College will be offered this winter through University of Minnesota Extension. This is the seventh annual webinar series focusing on education related to strengthening local food systems. The five-part online classes will be Jan. 23-Feb. 27.
Classes are streamed live online every week on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. If those registered for the Local Foods College are not able to join during the live session, they can view a recording at a later date. Access to a reliable Internet source is necessary to participate. Participants will learn from practitioners, educators and those involved in the growing movement to build resilient local foods systems. This year’s sessions will focus on fruits and nuts, improving pastures, deep winter greenhouses, seed saving and pollinators.
